HELENE MARIE SOROKOWSKI (nee MOREAU) With great sorrow, the family announces the passing of our mother and grandmother, June 14, 2001 at the Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 76. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Dian; and son-in-law Robert Dawson; and her two granddaughters, Dana and Natalie. She is survived by her sister Anita Ternent and husband Jim, sister Millie Caslake and husband Glen; brother Wilf Moreau and wife Ethel, all of BC; and brother Aime Moreau and wife Pierrette of Ste. Anne, MB. Her husband Stanley in 1997 and her sister Rita Coultas of BC predeceased Helene. Helene was born in Treherne, MB. She was a proud Canadian Military Civil Servant along with her husband Stan at the Minto Armouries and then went on to work for the Scott Bathgate Company. She then worked for the Employment Insurance Agency for over 10 years. Helene found great joy in spending time with her beloved family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand in any time of need. The family would like to thank Helenes many friends who visited her during her sickness. The family would also like to extend their appreciation for the excellent care and support given to Helene by Manitoba Home Care, Veterans Affairs and the Charleswood Care Centre. Prayers and viewing will be held at the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Monday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at the Thomson Funeral Chapels at 3:30 p.m. If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetic Association in Helens memory.
